On December 5, a delegation from the Netherlands' Nuclear Innovation Mission visited the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) to explore innovative technologies in small modular reactors (SMRs) and discuss potential cooperation between the two countries. This visit was part of an international collaborative effort towards future energy solutions.
The delegation received a detailed briefing on KAERI's SMART technology and other innovative SMR solutions. During the meeting, both countries engaged in in-depth discussions on the development trajectory of SMR technology and the potential for market expansion. They also explored opportunities for educational and training collaboration, agreeing to leverage each other's strengths for the advancement of sustainable nuclear energy.
Additionally, the delegation toured the ATLAS and SMART-ITL facilities to experience Korea's nuclear research capabilities and success stories firsthand. The Dutch representatives were impressed by Korea's advanced nuclear technology and agreed to explore avenues for future collaborative research and projects.
