KAERI Nuclear Training Center Homepage!
As national competitiveness hangs on an absolute advantage in scientific and technological capabilties based on knowledge and on the level of informatization in the 21st century, establishing creative technological superiority has become the highest priority on the national agenda. In this knowledge-based age, therefore, systematic training of a scientific and technological workforce which forms an essential element of national competitiveness is more than required along with support strategies.
In a proactive response to such requirements of the age and global change in the environment, the Nuclear Training & Education Center (NTC) is striving to develop education and training programs and to cultivate talents, aimed at promoting technological superiority of the nuclear personnel of government agencies and industries and at nurturing scientific and technological capabilities of the students who have background in natural science and engineering; including those in the nuclear engineering department.
In addition, the Center has been providing education and training to nuclear personnel of nuclear developing countries, in conjunction with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), to ensure the safe and peaceful use of nuclear power. As part of these efforts, the Center was designated by IAEA, in 1997, as an outstanding international training center; and is growing into an internationally recognized human resources development center.
The Center also had established itself as a world-class international nuclear workforce exchange and cooperation center, both in name and in reality, by providing quality education and training programs to the IAEA members' nuclear personnel through the opening of the International Nuclear Training & Education Center (INTEC) equipped with hi-tech educational facilities in April, 2002. Henceforth, the Center will do its utmost to continue training outstanding personnel needed in the nuclear industry, locally and abroad, to ensure the safer and peaceful use of nuclear power.
