18m Small Angle Neutron Scattering Instrument
18m Small Angle Neutron Scattering Instrument18M-SANS 18m Small Angle Neutron Scattering Instrument
- The small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) instrument measures and probes into nano sized inhomogeneities in a sample (e.g., defects, pores, precipitates, fine structures) in the length scale of a few to several hundred nanometers as monochromatic neutron beams incident on a sample are scattered at a low angle (<10o) and collected on a two-dimensional neutron detector. The 18M-SANS instrument is installed in the CG4B guide along with another pinhole-type small angle neutron scattering instrument built in the HANARO Cold Neutron Guide Hall.
